Wedding Videographer at Dean Park Hotel

There is a real difference between a videographer who has been to your venue and one who has not, and it is not the one people expect. It is not about knowing where the pretty bits are. It is about already knowing where to stand during the ceremony without ending up in the photographer's frame, and not having to work any of that out while your day is happening.

Four weddings at Dean Park since 2022, and it is close enough to home that I can be set up long before anybody else is in the building.

What filming the same room four times gives you

Mostly it removes guesswork. The first time at any venue you arrive early, walk it, and make decisions on the spot. By the fourth you are not making those decisions any more, you are just setting up, and the attention that would have gone on logistics goes on the day instead.

It also means I know how this particular room behaves rather than how rooms in general behave, which is the thing you cannot get from a website or a floor plan.

Audio is the part nobody asks about and the part that decides whether your ceremony film is watchable. Any hotel has a working building around it, so I mic the people speaking rather than relying on a camera to pick up the room. The vows are the one thing that cannot be reshot.

The drone

I fly a licenced Mavic 4 Pro and Kirkcaldy sits under nothing that stops a legal flight in normal conditions. Drone footage is always conditional though: wind, rain and whatever is happening overhead on the day. I would rather say that now than promise you an aerial shot in January and explain myself in August.

Two of the four films

Watch those two next to each other and you will notice they do not look like the same wedding, which is the point. Same rooms, same building, two completely different days. If a videographer's venue films all look identical, you are looking at a formula rather than a film.

What it costs at Dean Park

Exactly what it costs anywhere else. I do not price by venue. Twilight is £1,500 for the record of your day, Essentials is £2,500 and adds the cinematic film, and Signature is £3,000 with coverage through to 1am included rather than charged by the hour.

Being local does mean there is no travel cost and no overnight, and it means I can get there early without it being an ordeal.
